Looc = Live(s) Oriented On-line Community
Since 2003, with the slogan “Cafe=Community Access for Everyone,” we have been offering “Cafenet,” an online service connecting stores using grid computing technology. We offer this service through Cafe Company Incorporated.
At the same time, in the Internet world the concept of “Web 2.0” was being developed, and through blogs and Social Networking Services (SNS), anyone could express themselves. Communities were growing.
In the midst of these developments, we were thinking.
We thought, would not offline connections between the Internet and daily communities?even more real cafes, events, universities, localities, and towns?become stronger in the next generation?
We thus developed a new concept of connecting online and offline communities called Looc=, or Live(s) Oriented On-line Community.
Combining the live distribution communication interface we have fostered with
a user-friendly SNS interface based on Open PNE, we aim to form more real,
more live communities by partnering with various businesses.
